This treatment is natural in that your own cells are used and injected into the specified areas. Since a distillate of growth factors from your own blood (platelet rich plasma) is used, there should be no side effects from the material injected. The body reacts to the treated cells as it does to a wound and immediately starts repairing the tissue. You should see improvements immediately, although there is usually a return to prior treatment status in 3-5 days as the water is absorbed and prior to the complete action of the fibroblasts. This stimulates new blood flow with new blood vessels (neovascularization).
The results of this treatment commonly lasts 15 – 18 months but do not last as long in some people.
PRP or ‘Platelet Rich Plasma’ is a process whereby blood is taken from the patient and processed through a centrifuge to extract the cells in the plasma that are high in nutrients and growth factors. This platelet rich plasma is then injected back into the treatment area both superficially and at a deeper dermal level for maximum effectiveness.

HOW LONG WILL THE TREATMENT TAKE & WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?
You should reserve approximately 45 minutes for this procedure as your blood will need to be prepared. You will require a consultation with Dr Ali Hussain to assess your suitability before injecting, the value of the consultation will be deducted from your final total on the day. The actual injecting usually takes less than 10 minutes.
You may experience some redness and swelling at the injection site post procedure. You are able to return to your normal activities immediately. You must also avoid hot showers and excessive sun for 24 hours after your treatment.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?
As with any injectable treatment there is a small risk of short term redness, tenderness or bruising. As this treatment is performed using your own natural body products adverse side effects have not been recorded.
